Could something serious be wrong with my foot?

About 3 weeks ago I dropped a small portable vacuum cleaner on my foot, right below my small toe. As soon as it happened it bruised up pretty good. About a week later the bruise went away, but today my daughter stepped on my foot in that exact spot and the pain was excruciating and now the bruise is back on there and it is painful to the touch. Should I go to the doc and have it checked out?
